In less than seven hours I will be boarding my flight to Belize. It’s finally here! I’m so excited and anxious at the moment I’m pretty sure I’ll spend the night tossing and turning, imagining all the possibilities of my study abroad experience. I never thought I would actually have the opportunity to engage in such an incredible program overseas, but with the help of SEBS and my supportive family, my dream is becoming a reality. The two courses I will be taking in the C.E.L.A. Belize program will most definitely serve as insight into the lives of veterinarians and zoologists; two careers that both greatly interest me. Therefore, I can’t wait to learn how to handle various species, deliver vaccinations, and build upon my past three years of coursework at Rutgers. Not only am I excited to grow academically, but I am also interested in experiencing the culture of this historically intriguing and diverse country, that despite its small size, is home to world-renowned biodiversity.
