Ever Been Licked by a Jaguar??

January 6, 2018 by Emily Griffin Leave a Comment

Today is my last full day in Belize!! We took our exam and did our final presentations. The exam was the easiest exam I have ever taken! I wish all of my tests at Rutgers were like that.

Yesterday, three of my friends and I decided to do this thing here at the zoo that allows you to go in a cage in one of the jaguar, Junior Buddy’s, cage. Initially, we all thought it was $50 American dollars, and we were willing to pay for the once in a lifetime experience! Then we found out that for the four of us, it would be $100, so $25 each. Then we found out that it was $25 BELIZE dollars- which equates to $12.50 American dollars. I got to pet, feed, and get licked by a jaguar for the same price I would pay for a movie ticket at home. Normally, you would have to pay extra to feed him, but since the zoo people knew who we were and knew that it was our last day, they let us do it free of charge! 100% would do it again. I wish I had pictures, but I only have videos and it already takes me so long to post pictures on the blog so I think that I will post one when I get home!

Speaking of home, I am not looking forward to leaving. I do not want to go to weather that feels like -11 degrees. Every time I talk to my mom, she tells me about how cold it is there. I am not happy about this. I am also really sad to be leaving all my friends. They are all so amazing, but from so far away!! Texas, Canada, and Hawaii! Fortunately, I made a few friends that go to Rutgers!!! I am really sad and wish this trip could have lasted for ever. This was one of the best experiences of my life- it is something I did on a whim. I took a risk and I am so glad I did. I already want to start planning my next winter break!
