Today is our last day here in Chania. As I try to pack all my luggage to prepare for the trip to the next City I am reflecting on the things I got to do the past two days. Yesterday we hiked a gorge, and it was the most amazing experience I have had yet. It was steep and scary at some points but the scenery and nature were breathtaking. From the entrance of the gorge of Agia Irini (just by the road below the village of Agia Irini) to the exit of the gorge at the Oasis Taverna the hike was 7.5 km long and the descent is around 500 m. It took our group around 3 and a half hours to complete but it was worth every second. Afterwards we completed the hike we took a trip to a local beach where we cooled off in the water, shared a nice dinner, and then traveled back you M.A.I.Ch by bus. This morning waking up we had a lecture/meeting with it professors to critique our final projects hat we have been working on. My topic is all about Honey and how is is used in cooking, nutritional value, and medical within the Mediterranean culture. We sat and discussed our drafts/plan of action for the final copy of the project. Once we finished our class time we broke out for a little free time and met back up in the evening for a traditional Cretan Dinner and Greek dancing. It was so much fun and I even learned how to do some traditional Greeks line dances!
