Reflecting on An Amazing Experience

September 6, 2018 by Kayla Luis Leave a Comment

Hey! So it has been about two months almost to the date of my return, and so much has changed since coming back from the beautiful place of Belize. I saw some friends from the study abroad trip in some of my classes and it was so strange to see them anywhere else but in […]

Post-Germany: Changed Perspectives

September 4, 2018 by Zoe Orlino Leave a Comment

I would count down the hours like “in 24 hours american time I will be home”. The last few days of my study abroad all I could think about was Filipino food and bbq. I texted my mom if we could have BBQ and lumpia when I came home. Lo and behold I was greeted […]

The train had ample space for our luggage and even had a cafe on board. Arriving in Essen, the sights were breathtaking […]

My motivation was driven by the curiosity of the outside world

September 3, 2018 by Giovanni Caputo Leave a Comment

I always wanted to travel alone, but something was always stopping me. Was it because I didn’t have a reason? Was it because I was too scared? Was it the fear of having to completely adjust to a whole different culture?  Maybe it was a little bit of all of the above. But I finally […]

What Is This? Who Are They?

This blog is home to the thoughts and images of Rutgers University students as they travel the world this summer. Each student received a scholarship to experience the sciences beyond their New Jersey borders. In addition to the research and/or coursework, they will keep a journal or blog. Their thoughts are recorded once or twice a week over the duration of their international experience.

For more information about this scholarship, please visit the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences International Programs page at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
